Please use our question and answer system below to inform you of the facilities and related information regarding the three apartments at the Vivenda São Pedro. These questions are based on email questions exchanged between ourselves and former guests.

1. QUESTION: I noticed on the beds... there are no pillows. Do we need to provide pillows? or are they provided?
   ANSWER: Yes! We do provide pillows for the beds. Sorry they were not included in the photos.
2. QUESTION: Can you provide a listing of the items that are provided in the apartment? Are all the linens, bed sheets, pillows, blankets and bathroom towels and washcloths provided?
   ANSWER: Yes, all of the above, except the face cloths. All linens and towels are provided for. Soaps and detergents are also available.
3. QUESTION: Is the kitchen fully equipped to use? Dishes, glasses, silverware, toaster, cooking pots and pans, dish towels and cloths? Please provide a listing of the items provided in the kitchen, bedrooms and baths.
   ANSWER: Dishes, crockery, glassware, cutlery, cooking pots, pans, cooking utensils, and more. Still, your hosts do not mind putting any extras in. Microwave, toaster, and other items are included too. On demand and if not a huge cost other items could be provided for long-term staying guests. The bathrooms have showers, towels, soap, toilet paper, mirrors, sockets for electrical shaver, hair dryer, and so on.
4. QUESTION: Looks like the stove top is gas?
   ANSWER: Yes.
5. QUESTION: Is there an oven in the apartments?
   ANSWER: No. There is a microwave.
6. QUESTION: Do the refrigerators have a freezer section?
   ANSWER: Yes.
7. QUESTION: Does the clothes washer in the kitchen wash and dry clothes?
   ANSWER: No, it only washes.
8. QUESTION: Is the apartment air conditioned?
   ANSWER: No.
9. QUESTION: What type of heat is in the apartments...if it would be damp and chilly weather? I presume the heat level is independently controlled by each apartment?
   ANSWER: The apartments tend not to get get damp and chilly. But if it does rain and you do get cold there will be electrical heating. That is, stand-up oil heaters. There is also double glazing on all the windows and doors. This protects you from the outside temperature changes and the sea noise if there is a harsh wind or storm. Note - you will be virtually on the tropic of cancer so do not expect the wild and different temperature changes or weather you might expect somewhere higher up north in the world. The warm gulf stream flows past Madeira. This is the main controlling factor of temperatures in Santa Cruz. It remains quite mild for most of the year. If it gets too hot there is a natural sea water swimming pool atop to enjoy a quick dip if ! Also you can swim in the sea.
   
10. QUESTION: Is this a pet free environment?
    ANSWER: Yes. No pets are allowed.
11. QUESTION: We will have to rent a car... I presume there is space at this home to park a car?
    ANSWER: Plenty. There is a belvedere style open air parking area in front of the chapel of São Pedro right next to the house.
12. QUESTION: Is there a telephone in the apartment?
    ANSWER: No. The decision to not put phones in the apartment was made based on the fact that most customers come over with a cell phone now.
13. QUESTION: My husband and I work on the internet...we would need to be online maybe once a week for a very short period of time. Can we do that from the apartment or where would we do that?
    ANSWER: The owner has the possibility of putting free 24 hour internet access via cable television. This depends on whether the cable television has this service extended to the area but also whether there will be enough demand for the internet service from the other guests over time. This can be arranged for you specially at no extra cost - NOTE: But it depends on the service provider.... Despite that they supply Cable Television - the Internet Part has not been implemented everywhere they supply television service.
    I think the post office there has an online internet facility that use by inserting a pre-paid internet card. Just like a telephone card now. In Funchal there are several Post Offices with this facility.
14. QUESTION: If we would have a problem with the apartment of some sort while we are there...who would we contact?
    ANSWER: Your host(ess) is always on hand with a mobile phone. There will also be a maid on the property. Or you can call Madeira Online: 291 222 667.
15. QUESTION: Do the hosts speak English?
    ANSWER: Yes. Enough. However, the maid might have a little difficulty with complicated english.
