Villa Echium is located in Garajau and is more a suburb of Funchal than it would be of Santa Cruz. That is, since Garajau is a "sleeping area" of Funchal. Ever since the construction of fast roads to the Funchal city centre it is in walking distance to the beautiful amphitheatre of Madeira's capital.

Villa Echium is located on the outskirts of Funchal. It is a very quick short ride to the centre of Funchal. Indeed, it is quicker to the centre of Funchal than areas inside of Funchal itself due to the new roads build between Villa Echium and Funchal centre. However, if you want to leave the bustle of Funchal centre behind there is diving, tennis, walking, jogging and sailing sports available in the immediate area.
