Vivenda
Belo Horizonte is set in a magnificent position with an uninterrupted
180º view over and across the Atlantic ocean. (See, for example,
the montage of photos that forms the top part of this page). The
two storey house sits on a cliff above the pristine Garajau Natural
Sea Reserve (very popular with diving enthusiasts - see the picture
below). This is a protected nature site and is home to special fish,
indigenous birds and even the rare Mediterranean monk seal that
swims in the area from its base in the Desertas Islands as it searches
for food.
Vivenda
Belo Horizonte is part of the exclusive "Christo Rei"
section of Garajau. Garajau itself is the first suburb after Funchal
in Santa Cruz and has become a very sought after residential area
due to the numerous facilities, the excellent pleasant weather,
and proximity to easy roads that lead you into Funchal quite quickly
and effortlessly.
Vivenda
Belo Horizonte is 13 kilometres from the Airport, 9 kilometres from
the Funchal town centre and 20 kilometres from the Santo da Serra
golf club.
It
is also 1000 metres away from local Restaurants (some very good
ones - "Casa Portuguesa" and "O Franco's"),
bars, kiosks, bakery, supermarket, rent-a-car and tourism agencies.
Another 1,500 metres away diving schools, gym facilities, and sea
shore swimming is available. Tennis courts next door to the Vivenda
can be rented out by booking with the Dom Pedro Garajau hotel. Sight
seeing and walking tours can also be arranged.
