Welcome to one of the more picturesque parts of the island of Madeira: Câmara de Lobos. For quite a while now Câmara de lobos has been off the radar for hotel development. Mostly because Câmara de Lobos is literally a stone's throw away from the Funchal hotel district. However, there are almost no proper hotels in the town centre of Câmara de Lobos itself. Which is a pity, since it is traditional Madeira at its best!

Excellent levada walks, swimming by the beach, sightseeing, going down the cable car to the extraordinary "Fajã dos Padres" beach where an extraordinary wine is made, and the general feel you get around a vibrant and youthful fishing village.

The whole of Câmara de Lobos is pretty sensational to the eye and has many treats for the adventurous traveler who seeks the authentic Madeira, even for the frequent visitor to the island.
