The neighbourhood itself is relatively calm and some fifty metres away there are several shops, a self-service restaurant with take-away facilities (there are other restaurants and snack bars nearby – an ice-cream parlour, coffee shops, and so on). The local mini-market of the area supplements the large and popular “Madeira Shopping” mall about a kilometre away.

Below is a map indicating the position of the studio apartment relative to the centre of Funchal. Access is very easy and can be done by following the main yellow trajectories as seen on the map. The apartment is also conveniently located to the main motorway of Madeira to access any other part of the island easily. The apartment is about 20 minutes away from the airport. The centre of Funchal is about 25 minutes away from the airport.

There is plenty of free off-street parking near the studio.  However, it is likely you will not need to hire a car since an excellent bus service with several bus routes lies some forty metres away. The bus would take ten to fifteen minutes to the centre of Funchal. Having your own car you would be anywhere in downtown Funchal in about four to five minutes.

The area is a residential area and does not have any Museums or major sights and attractions. It is, however, very close to the largest shopping centre in Madeira (www.madeirashopping.pt).
