The Casa da Lena Cottage is a singularly special self-catering accommodation in that it rests upon a property with thousands of square metres of gardens - especially, mature trees and old shrubs.
About 2000 m² is usable - the gardens beyond about fifty metres in front of the cottage sprawl into a forest of age old trees and rustic gardens.
The location of the cottage means that it is very close to nature - there is a very all-year-round green and pleasant environment with butterflies flitting past and bees humming.
It is situated in an exclusive enclave of the Santo da Serra Village of the Santa Cruz municipality, just off a well known landmark called “Quinta da Paz”. A golf course is nearby, the airport a mere ten minutes away, loads of walking trails and levadas to do nearby, and a quaint village centre that has a traditional farmer’s market on the weekends.
The new roads that go down towards the motorway means that with an easy drive Funchal is only about twenty five minutes away by car.
