The quintessential Madeiran stone cottage converted from an old cottage located spectacularly on a "calhau" (a large boulder type of cliff) - hence the name of the property.

The cottage is a lovingly renovated structure comprising two floors. On the bottom a cozy comfortable living room area with its own kitchenette and a shower bathroom is available. To get to bed you climb up a short flight of steps to a large bedroom on the top floor.

There is a lovely outdoors barbecue behind the cottage. Ample garden space with awesome sea views lies to the front of the cottage and a series of walkways leads you to the different parts of the property including your own private entrance.

A lovely swimming pool is included on the property (see photos). This cottage is certainly a painstakingly and lovingly restored labour of love and a most delightful "sun-trap".

A great antidote for stressful city living.
